Lyall Schulz farms on a 600 ha property near Mailtland on Yorke Peninsula, SA. The family partnership also share-farms and leases another 1,100 hectares, cropping wheat, barley, lentils, beans, vetch, canola as well as self replacing merino sheep. Lyall is the Chair of Australian Field Crops Association and South Australian Field Crops Association, a member of SA Seed Industry Advisory Council; a grower of certified and commercial seed, has an interest in an export hay company and a grower of export hay and seed for hay crop. Lyall is involved in the local Lutheran Church and treasurer of Lutheran School, Controller of Maitland State Emergency Service, Communications Officer of Yorke Valley Country Fire Services Group and has been involved in landcare and student education since 1990 and winning an IBIS award in 1995 for this association.
