AFIA will be providing an update on hay marketing and technical aspects of production at Hopetoun.
This event has been coordinated by the Victorian DPI AgFutures Project with assistance from
the ‘Exploring our Future Beyond 2010’ Organising Committee.
Series Aims:
1. To provide relavant and up-to-date information on a range of topical issues for Hopetoun and
District communities held from February to April 2010.
2. Generate discussion among attendees (local government, businesses, community groups,
service providers, schools).
3. To assist residents and business owners (farm and town) of Hopetoun and District make
sense of the changes that will affect agriculture and rural communities in the future.
Series Outcomes:
1. Better informed decisions will be made for individual businesses and the Hopetoun and
District Community, when responding to change.
2. Information, ideas and thoughts generated from events will help inform the Hopetoun 20-year
Strategic Plan.
3. Stronger and wider networks will be formed to tap into during times of change and there will
be better awarenss of, and access to, farm services.
